Overview

This page explains how adswifthaven.life uses cookies and similar storage. We keep the system plain: a bottom banner on first visit, three choices, and a manage control on this page.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. LocalStorage is a similar browser storage mechanism. Both can remember preferences between visits.

Cookie name

Our consent cookie is named ash_consent. It is set on the domain adswifthaven.life with Path=/, Max-Age=15552000 seconds (one hundred eighty days), SameSite=Lax, and Secure when the page loads over HTTPS.

Essential cookies

Essential cookies always run. They remember your consent decision so the banner does not reappear on every load. Without them, the banner would show each visit even after you chose Accept or Reject.

Functional cookies

Functional cookies are optional. When enabled, they may store UI preferences such as which accordion items you opened. When disabled, the site still works; preferences simply reset.

Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies are listed for transparency but not loaded on this site. The toggle records a preference for future use if we ever add privacy-preserving analytics. Currently no analytics scripts run.

Maps cookies

Maps cookies relate to Google Maps embeds on every content page. When you allow maps, Google may set cookies and collect usage data according to Google privacy policies. We embed maps for neighbourhood context centred on Dunlop Street, not for tracking you across other sites.

LocalStorage mirror

We copy consent JSON to localStorage key ash_consent as backup if cookies are cleared partially. The mirror holds the same JSON shape as the cookie value.

Accept all

Accept all sets functional and maps to true, analytics remains false, writes cookie and localStorage, hides banner immediately.

Reject all

Reject all sets functional and maps to false, analytics false, writes storage, hides banner. Google Maps iframes stay hidden until you allow Maps again via Customise or Manage cookies.

Customise

Customise opens the inline panel with toggles. Save choices writes the exact combination and hides the banner.

Manage cookies

The button below reopens the panel with saved toggles pre-filled. A new choice overwrites the old record and resets the one hundred eighty day retention from that moment.

Hard refresh

Hard refresh (Ctrl+F5) should not reset consent within the retention period unless you cleared site data manually.

Keyboard access

Banner controls are keyboard reachable with visible focus. Enter and Space activate buttons. Focus is not trapped in the banner.

Reduced motion

When prefers-reduced-motion is set, the banner appears without slide animation per CSS.

JavaScript off

With JavaScript disabled, the site remains readable. This page explains choices in text; the banner may not persist without JS.

Google disclosure

Google Maps is a third-party service. Google may process IP address, device information, and interaction data when maps load. See Google privacy policy for detail. We do not receive personal profiles from Google about your map views.

Changing mind

You may change consent anytime via Manage cookies or by clearing site data in your browser, which resets all categories until you choose again.

Retention period

Consent records expire after one hundred eighty days unless refreshed by a new choice. After expiry the banner returns on next visit.

Browser controls

Most browsers let you delete cookies site-by-site or globally. Doing so resets consent and may clear functional preferences.

Essential cannot be disabled

Essential storage is required to remember that you answered the banner. Without it the notice would appear every page load.

No third-party ad cookies

We do not serve advertising and do not permit ad network cookies on this domain.

Version history

Consent schema version v1 is current. If we change schema we will increment v and explain migration here.

Relationship to privacy

Cookie choices are described here and in privacy.php. Data protection rights apply to any personal data tied to consent logs.
